West Virginia University - Soccer Practice Facility
D.A. Hogan served as the field consultant on the Women’s Practice Soccer Facility at West Virginia University. This project location was unique with construction adjacent to a steep ravine/slope and included a 29 ft. height keystone retaining wall constructed to maximize field space and develop a full size practice facility.
Field construction included a new subsurface drainage system, aggregate drainage layer, sand root zone soil, irrigation system and a 91,200sf sand based sod field. Field perimeter included fencing and netting in coordination with perimeter curbs and walls. Other site design considerations included perimeter grading, transitions and other site facilities such as pedestrian and vehicular access, a 44 vehicle parking lot and new lighting.
