UCLA Intramural Sports Field

D.A. Hogan & Associates was the prime consultant for the renovation of the IM Sports Field at UCLA.  The field encompasses over 330,000sf of area with the majority located over a multi-story parking structure.  The project included removal of the existing natural turf surface and corresponding organic layer, modifications and improvements to the existing drainage system and installation of new field base materials.  The project included structural coordination to insure the construction was sequenced and equipment was compatible with the parking structure load restrictions. The playing surface was converted to an infilled synthetic turf system with a supplemental shock pad system.  The fields accommodate ten sports with permanent reference points and the use of temporary paint for lines and markings for each sport.  The design process included multiple field configuration options to enhance programming flexibility.
